For centuries, humans have powered a growing world by extracting Earth's carbon-rich rocks, oil, and wood. The increase of burning fossil fuels and deforestation has greatly increased the carbon output in the atmosphere.
Everyday people are driving, working, copying, printing, listening, and watching in this mundane routine from sunrise to sunset. People say life is all about work however, all they do in life is exist. They passively wait to act, patiently listening and watching others achievements and failures. Existing is define as being able to breathe, digest nutrients and foods, pump blood, and dispose of excess waste. Existing also requires the minimum effort of the brain to send neurotransmitters to other organs to function through nerve cells and the spinal cord. Digesting food is a mundane process in which the only output for the work is ATP and waste. Living is experiencing happiness and emotions but, also failures and setbacks. Living does not mean breathing in the same oxygen mixed air but, exploring other biological diverse environments and breathing in cleaner air untouched by industrialization. Living is trying something new and feeling the pain of a needle from your knee traveling up to your spinal cord to your brain, remembering what it feels like and to not make the same mistake twice. Living is not only for the pursuit for homeostasis but beyond that concept and into a life where there is a world in the horizon waiting to be touched upon by your hands. Throughout history people perceived crying as a sign of weakness and incapability to succeed. Crying however, releases stress and emotions allowing the body to relax and decompress. When is it time to stop calculating risks and rewards, and just go ahead and do what is right?06/16/2014 As humans we calculate risks and rewards for reproductive success and homeostasis. We want a stable life with little to no stress. We compare what we gain to sacrifices we make for that accomplishment. We as humans are afraid of others judgments and beliefs that we hide within ourselves hiding from the light. |
